Dr. Roger Kanet can speak about cultural and political issues in modern Russia, including the current crisis with Russia, Ukraine and the Crimea. Professor Kanet’s major teaching and research interests focus on postcommunist Europe, on questions of European and global security, democratization and nationalism, both in a comparative perspective, and on aspects of U.S. foreign and security policy. He also teaches a course entitled the World before European Domination.
