The Office of Media Relations is available to respond to inquiries from the news media, including student reporters. Our Media Relations staff responds rapidly to media requests, and we encourage you to call our office if you have any questions about the University of Miami. Please allow 24-48 business hours for a response. *If you are a student working on a class assignment, please do not proceed in submitting a media request. We encourage you to reach out directly to the university department you wish to speak with.*
Our office can also help put you in direct contact with a wide variety of experts in numerous specialties. Experts on timely topics are posted on http://blogs.univmiami.net/experts/. Please note that we do not approve requests, we simply review and facilitate contact with the appropriate person.
As the University of Miami is a private university, arrangements must be made in advance to take photographs or shoot video footage. A member of the Media Relations staff must accompany reporters and cameras on campus.
For University of Miami visitors, either a valid UM parking pass, required 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday, or a paid meter is necessary. We recommend that media visiting campus park in the Pavia Garage (one block off of Stanford Drive) and obtain a temporary day pass.
