Dr. Susan Kaufman Purcell is the Director of the Center for Hemispheric Policy at the University of Miami. Dr. Purcell is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Women’s Forum. She has been an International Affairs Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, a Visiting Fellow at the Overseas Development Council, and a Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.

Professor Amanullah De Sondy earned his Ph.D. in theology and religious studies at the University of Glasgow (Scotland), with a focus on Islamic Studies. Aman has taught Islamic Studies at the University of Glasgow, University of Strathclyde and the University of Stirling in Scotland and at Ithaca College, New York in the USA before joining the University of Miami.

Ranen Omer-Sherman

associate professor of English and Jewish Studies, teaches courses on the Arab-Israeli conflict, as represented in literature. He served for three years in the Israeli army in the late 1970s and early 1980s, including some time in Lebanon. Omer-Sherman is fluent in Hebrew.
